Winter Activities

Watch for weather related updates on the City of Anoka Facebook page .

City of Anoka is doing a ice skate (hockey or figure) collection. All collected skates will be sharpened and then housed at Lincoln Elementary School Warming house for the 2023-2024 season. These skates will be free to use for the public.

If you'd like to donate skates, there will be collection boxes at Anoka City Hall in the lower level or at the Anoka Area Ice Arena, during open ours. You can also donate your skates at any warming house location, once the season begins.

With any questions, please contact Nickie Jenks, Recreation Manager njenks@ci.anoka.mn.us

The City welcomed our new groomer winter of 2022! This groomer will be grooming trails at the Anoka Nature Preserve and Green haven Golf Course. The trails will be groomed for the Disc Golf course as well at Green haven!

The Cedars of Green Haven, a winter disc golf course, debuts this winter.  The disc golf course is a full 18-hole course utilizing the elevated portion of the property on the west side. While the course offers a  challenging layout for the advanced level player, it is still enjoyable for the intermediate and novice players. Night and weekend disc golf is available through multiple leagues, as well as, free play.  Participants can enjoy delicious food and beverages at The Tavern at Green Haven during restaurant hours. The course is free to the public.

To keep track of your score throughout your game go to "UDisc" to create an account and to track your score at each hole!

Rules:
No salting teepads or anywhere on the course, ever.
Keep off greens, grab your disc and throw outside of ropes.
